In Defense of Open Society cover

This framework sample treats a book note as a post rather than a page. That keeps editorial updates, reading notes, and thematic annotations inside the same publishing pipeline as essays and remarks.

Why a books category is still useful

A minimal content model does not need a fully separate books engine on day one. But it is still helpful to classify book-related posts independently so that administrators can:

  • publish reading notes without inventing new templates
  • connect books to recurring topics such as democracy or Europe
  • promote selected titles on the homepage or books page

A framework-first approach

The emphasis here is on maintainability. The content lives in Markdown, the metadata lives in frontmatter, and the route is generated by the same post template used everywhere else.
